OpenTable released its annual list of the “top 100 romantic restaurants” in the nation. Four New England spots made the list, and only one in Massachusetts—Boston, specifically.
The dining platform generates this final curation of the most romantic restaurants based on diner reviews and metrics. Visitors praise these New England spots as “swoon-worthy, romantic,” and capable of setting a sultry mood, according to OpenTable.
For all of Massachusetts, the only restaurant to make the list is Back Bay’s Sorellina. Celebrating its 20th anniversary this past January, Sorellina’s been serving elegant cuisine with memorable service to Boston since 2006. Helmed by Chef and Owner Jamie Mammano, Sorellina redefines Italian-Mediterranean cuisine with a contemporary twist. The name “Sorellina” translates to “little sister” in Italian.
Sorellina is part of Columbus Hospitality Group, the same team behind Mistral, Mooo…., and Ostra—all equally elegant spots perfect for date night.
Outside of Boston, one iconic Maine restaurant made the list, Earth at Hidden Pond, which conveniently happens to reside in what’s known as “America’s most romantic small town.” Indulge in Earth’s farm-to-table cuisine as a part of a romantic getaway in the charming coastal Maine town. For the full experience, stay overnight at Hidden Pond Resort and reserve a service at the Tree Spa for two.
In Rhode Island, two restaurants made the list. White Horse Tavern—a historic Newport restaurant once owned by pirates—proves that even the Jack Sparrows of the seas have a soft side. Also on the list is Boat House Waterfront Dining, located on a bluff overlooking the Atlantic in Tiverton, Rhode Island.
