Look-alike contests are all the rage these days, from Timothée Chalamet (who crashed his own look-alike contest and somehow didn’t win?) to the Glen Powell contest in Austin, Texas to now the Tom Holland look-alike contest held at Boston Common over the weekend.
Boston didn’t want to be left out of the fun.
You might be thinking, Tom Holland? that’s so random, why not Matt Damon, Mindy Kaling, Ben Affleck, or any Bostonian? While Holland may be from England, he’s currently in the neighborhood as Zendaya, Tom’s girlfriend, is filming A24 film “The Drama” alongside Robert Pattinson in Boston.
Zendaya and Tom have been spotted around Boston, visiting Caffe Nero, Target, Whole Foods and more spots in South End and Somerville. Sadly, Tom did not pull a Timmy and crash his own look-alike contest.
From the looks of the crowned winner of Boston’s Tom Holland look-alike contest, you’d think he did. Nick Anderson, a 26-year-old software company chief of staff from Melrose dawns a striking resemblance to Actor Tom Holland.
Anderson notes people mistake him for Tom Holland once a month at least, asking him if he’s Spiderman.
While Anderson’s not Spiderman, he is on the lookout for his MJ, in his acceptance speech saying “by the way, I am single, and yes, I am looking for a girlfriend.”
While Anderson was bummed that Holland didn’t show up to the contest, he did go home Boston’s crowned winner and with that came $50 and a bag of British candy. Brilliant!
