What’s on at The Jazz Room in Boston?
A Journey to the Heart of New Orleans
New Orleans jazz was born of brass bands and backroom blues, and this program traces that living lineage with Boston intimacy inside The Jazz Room. You’ll follow the music’s river currents—from street parade swagger to late-night swing—as a tight ensemble shapes a spontaneous journey rather than a fixed setlist or tribute. There’s the warmth of collective improvisation, nods to Armstrong’s era, and the bittersweet lilt of standards like When the Saints Go Marching In, St. James Infirmary, and Basin Street Blues. Settle in as the room softens, glasses clink, and the city leans closer to the Crescent City’s heartbeat.
A Frank Sinatra and Louis Armstrong tribute
Settle in at The Jazz Room for a live jazz journey that traces the golden era through the legacies of Frank Sinatra and Louis Armstrong—two voices that shaped swing, sentiment, and style. This program leans into interpretation over imitation, spotlighting expressive phrasing, tight ensemble interplay, and the timeless mood their catalogs inspire. Classics surface in fresh colors—like ‘Fly Me to the Moon’, ‘I’ve Got You Under My Skin’, and ‘What a Wonderful World’—not as a fixed setlist, but as moments that breathe in the room, inviting you to hear familiar melodies anew.
