A melt-in-your-mouth chestnut truffle ravioli, fluffy sourdough bread, and space where conversation is the playlist converge at a Cambridge restaurant. As co-owner, Danielle Ayer, put it, it’s a “modern mom and pop,” with Ayer’s husband, Conor Dennehy, spearheading the kitchen, crafting the flavors of Talulla as Executive Chef. Chef Dennehy also happens to be a James Beard Award Semifinalist, recognized in the “best chef Northeast” category.
About Talulla

Named after their daughter, Talulla, is a family-owned and run fine dining establishment in Huron Village. With just 12 tables in the 1-room restaurant, the energy of the restaurant parallels that of the neighborhood it inhabits—cozy yet full of surprises. Inspired by the seasons, Talulla’s menu is ever-evolving, focusing on exciting New American cuisine made with the freshest ingredients. There are three ways to enjoy Talulla, whether with an à la carte dinner, newly introduced take-out menu, or the divine tasting menu—an excellent choice for Valentine’s weekend or any special occasion.

With the absence of music in the restaurant, Talulla creates a space for flowing conversation as the husband-and-wife duo orchestrate a harmonious dining experience for guests. Dining at Tallula feels like an intimate dinner party with friends and neighbors, with dishes that speak volumes.
New American fine dining meets farm-to-table flavors

Some standouts of Talulla’s current tasting menu include the ricotta chestnut ravioli, decorated with fresh-shaved black truffle. The scallop crudo with fennel, radish, and orange commences the menu on a high note, while the squab with parsnip, squash, kale, and cranberry offers a delicacy steeped in New England flavors.
No two days are the same at Talulla, with the menu changing to match the flavors of the season, hearty comforting dishes in winter and lighter fare in spring and summer. At $125, this 5-course tasting menu is a delectable choice for food enthusiasts who appreciate creative pairings.
If that sounds like someone special in your life, Talulla announced a 4-course menu for Valentine’s week from February 11-15. For the first-course, pick from options like a million-dollar potato in soup form, or Kampachi crudo with radish and lemon.
The second course offers a selection from three of Talulla’s delectable signature pastas, an editor favorite off the tasting menu. The main offers three choices for Valentine’s week—Chou Farci (a French-style stuffed cabbage), Halibut in butter sauce, or Asian-inspired beef short ribs.
Pick from fruity, chocolatey, or tropical with three Valentine’s dessert options, each option more tantalizing than the next. With just 12 tables, Valentine’s week spaces are filling up quickly. Make yours today.

Conor and Danielle are also two-thirds of the team behind Cambridge’s new farm-to-table dining concept; Fallow Kin is now open in the space formerly occupied by Craigie on Main. The duo is in partnership with Marcos Sanchez, formerly of Tasting Counter, Gray’s Hall and Tres Gatos to bring this agriculturally savvy dining option to Cambridge which offers everything from a Valentine’s tasting menu to a “zero waste” menu.
