It feels like just yesterday we were noting the shift in Boston sunset time and Vitamin D availability and the start of short winter days, but later this week we’ll have our very first 5 PM sunset of 2023. For those of us “over winter” and eagerly awaiting summer, this is one step closer to the days of rooftop dining and exploring New England beaches.
According to data from timeanddate.com, the sunset on Friday, February 3 will take place precisely at 5 PM and the next morning the sunrise will take place at 6:54 AM. The next sunset before 5 PM in 2023 will be on November 5 due to daylight savings time changes.
The June 21 summer solstice will bring Boston its longest day, with sunrise at 5:07 AM and an 8:24 PM sunset, meaning a lovely 15-hour day according to timeanddate.com. Boston’s iconic skyline is stunning year-round, but especially breathtaking at sunset.
We love a good sunset picnic or dinner with a view like at Contessa or Lookout Rooftop. We can’t wait for View Boston to open up because we know the sunsets on that Skydeck will be immaculate! Make sure to grab a seat at some of our favorite Boston rooftops and remind yourself why you fell in love with the Spirit of America!
