The scalp spa concept at SKA Boston is a foreign thing to our neighborhood, but an important self-care routine in Japan and Korea, where many of the principal steps in an SKA treatment originate. The scalp spa will soon have two locations, one currently open in Downtown and another to open in Southie in 2025. They also have a SKA Hair Color spa nearby their Downtown location. The scalp spa recently went viral for a video showcasing the intensive 17-step scalp treatment.
SKA Boston notes that one scalp treatment is up to “20 times” more effective than an at-home scalp care routine or mask. The in-depth treatment begins with a personalized scalp analysis, magnifying your scalp and finding microscopic notes on your scalp health.
From there, a gameplan is developed to address your scalp concerns, and often includes luxe treatments like an herbal scalp steam, scalp massage, de-clogging, pH restoration and more. Treatments range from 70 to 90 minutes and prices range from $138 to $168 per treatment.
Depending on the overall health of your scalp, you may be recommended visiting once per month, or more. SKA notes that completing these scalp treatments regularly is vital for optimal hair health and helps combat the effects of “pollution, UV exposure, poor water quality, and inappropriate hair products.”
Treatments can aid common scalp ailments such as itchy scalp, dandruff, thinning hair, or oily scalps. SKA Boston offers dozens of treatments beyond the unique scalp spa such as facials, hair color, and more.
