Whether it’s breakfast, brunch, lunch, or dinner, if you want fish and chips or a traditional Irish breakfast, Scobie’s Bar & Cafe has got you covered! Owned by husband and wife John and Anne Lydon, this cozy eatery will warm you right up this season.
“Scobie” comes from a slang word in West Ireland, a nickname and term of endearment meaning a troublemaker or blaggard. The only trouble you’ll find here is deciding which delicious dish to order!
Breakfast & Brunch at Scobie’s
The most important meal of the day, right? Scobie’s Cafe menu includes a jumbo Irish breakfast on a roll, a traditional Irish sausage roll, a warm scone with clotted cream and jam, and more. A selection of iced and hot caffeinated (and non-caffeinated) beverages is also available. Some delicious flavors, such as Irish Creme, Milky Way, Praline, and more, make us drool.
Don’t get us started on Weekend Brunch! Skip the roll and dig into a full Irish breakfast, a spice bag chicken sandwich, an Irish breakfast roll, and Guinness beef stew, to name a few.
Dinner & Music at Scobie’s
For starters, try their garlic butter steak bites (made with a whiskey peppercorn sauce!), Irish ham and cheese croquettes, or grilled tandoori chicken skewer. Soups and salads are also available.
For the main course, choose from the entrees from the sea or the mains from the land. Seafood options include the classic fish and chips, pan-seared salmon, and white wine garlic mussels.
If you decide to stay on land, staples such as a rich Shepherd’s Pie, rack of lamb, and half roasted chicken are delectable options! For dessert, delve into some sticky toffee pudding, cookie sundae, or the day’s dessert.
Dinner and a show? Grab a seat at the bar or sit by one of two fireplaces to enjoy some traditional Irish Music. For a full schedule and updated times on performances, go here.
The Guinness and Other Drinks
Any pub that doesn’t serve Guinness isn’t to be trusted. Scobie’s goes above and beyond! They store the Guinness in separate coolers and even run it through separate lines. They pour it off separate taps, which were imported from Ireland in collaboration with Guinness!
If you want to try other drinks besides Guinness, indulge in the Magner’s Mule, which has Irish cider, Tullamore Dew, lime and mint, a refreshing cranberry orange spritz, and even a pistachio martini made with Bailey’s, of course! The drink list is expansive and includes a variety of cocktails, wine, beer, and Irish Whiskeys, of course!
