This year, the Fourth of July isn’t the only time to catch fireworks on Boston Harbor. In celebration of the 250th anniversary of the nation, a fleet of tall ships is touring America, stopping in only five cities!
Boston, with its major history in the formative years of the nation, is undoubtedly one of the five stops. The tall ship tour will stop in the respective cities during the durations listed:
Sail250 Tour Dates:
- New Orleans: May 28 to June 1
- Norfolk: June 19 to 23
- Baltimore: June 24 to 30
- New York and New Jersey: July 3 to 8
- Boston: July 11 to 16
Boston marks the grand finale on the tour and is the only destination in New England! Only two cities, New Orleans and Boston, will display fireworks during the tall ship festival.

The tall ship tour is dubbed Sail250, since it serves as a floating homage to the nation’s birth two and a half centuries ago. The commemorative sail takes place following the FIFA World Cup final the month prior.
It’s a summer of major events for America!
