On Monday, Mayor Michelle Wu announced that the city of Boston will be handing out about a half-million free rapid COVID-19 tests to Bostonians who want one. They will be available for pick-up 14 library branches and community centers across Boston.
Each testing kit has two tests inside. City officials are asking that people only take one kit per member of their household.
These tests are part of the first phase of the city’s plan to distribute roughly half a million rapid iHealth Labs sent by the governor. The announcement comes in the wake of Mayor Wu’s new vaccination mandate for indoor dining.
