Candlelight has been building quite a shelf of screen tributes. Bridgerton, Outlander, The Wizard of Oz and WB Horror have all had their turn by candlelight, and now the Shelbys are stepping in.
Candlelight: Peaky Blinders – Waitlist
The Sanctuary – Old South Church in Boston
If you need a refresher, Peaky Blinders is the BBC drama created by Steven Knight that ran for six series from 2013 to 2022, following the Shelby family through 1920s Birmingham, an industrial city in England’s Midlands. The story returned in 2026 with the film The Immortal Man. And the music was always half the draw: a world of tweed and pocket watches scored with modern rock. That contrast is exactly why it works by candlelight, rearranged into dark, powerful pieces that keep the show’s edge.
Two tracks are confirmed for the program: “Red Right Hand” by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, the series’ opening theme, and “Do I Wanna Know?” by Arctic Monkeys. Expect about an hour of live music surrounded by thousands of candles.
There’s no dress code, but if you’ve been waiting for an excuse to dust off a newsboy cap and a waistcoat, this is it.
