Meet the “USS Lobstitution,” a 28-inch-long, 28-ounce lobster roll found at Pauli’s North End. The Italian sub shop is heralded for its massive, loaded subs. In New England fashion, when it comes to lobster, Pauli’s came to play.
The massive lobster roll is the longest in the city and among the longest in New England. It’s not just about the theatrics of the USS Lobstitution at Pauli’s, the spot earned itself an episode on Food Network with Guy Fieri’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, with visiting James Beard Award-Winning Chef, Ken Oringer.
The lobster at Pauli’s was praised for freshness, and the buns for being fresh and buttery—served hot off the grill. The knuckle and claw lobster meat comes with a twist of lemon and mayo, with a challenge to diners, “can you sink it?”
The $110 behemoth lobster roll is enough to feed a party, with smaller, 7 and 14 ounce lobster rolls available too.
With the tagline, “wicked fresh, crazy good,” Pauli’s prioritizes sourcing the freshest New England lobster. Gaining so much popularity for its USS Lobstitution, and more modestly sized lobster rolls, their lobster roll kits are available on Goldbelly, so anyone, anywhere, can enjoy a lobster roll from Pauli’s.
Pauli’s is a casual spot in the North End run by fourth-generation baker, Paul Barker and his wife Michelle since their opening in 2011. Pauli’s offers a host of other subs, sandwiches, melts, wraps, salads, dinner plates, and more!
