Dust off your lederhosen—it’s time to celebrate Oktoberfest 2021!
While Germany unfortunately cancelled Oktoberfest this year, you can still celebrate right here in Boston this year! Contrary to the name, Oktoberfest starts mid-September and traditionally ends on the first Sunday of October. That means right now is the perfect time to enjoy some quality beer and bratwurst at these local breweries and restaurants!
1. Bronwyn
Bronwyn is celebrating Oktoberfest for more than a month this year, from September 16 to October 30. The Somerville restaurant’s food and drink specials will have you thinking you’ve been transported into a Munich beer hall—decorations included! Check out their full Oktoberfest menu here.

2. The Beehive
The Beehive will host a night of Oktoberfest celebrations on September 29, featuring live music and good eats, such as spaetzle, pork shank, and pretzels. Not too mention plenty of beer, too!

3. Harpoon Brewery
On October 1 and 2, Harpoon’s Oktoberfest will feature specials on draft, stein-hoisting competitions, chicken dancing, a pretzel eating contest, and an entire afternoon of live music. Tickets can be purchased in advance on their website.

4. Jack’s Abby
From October 1 to 3, Framingham’s Jack’s Abby has plenty in store for Oktoberfest. Events include a live music, cake-cutting ceremony, a keg toss, flower crowns, and a medley of cask taps. Tables can be reserved here.

5. Aeronaut Brewing Co.
On October 2, Aeronaut Brewing Co. will be hosting a classic Oktoberfest celebration, featuring German-inspired beers, sausage and pretzels, and live oompah music. Tickets to the rain-or-shine event can be purchased on their website.

6. Olde Magoun’s Saloon
On October 9, Olde Magoun’s Saloon will once again be celebrating Oktoberfest with live music, authentic German food and Bier! With oompah music running all night and oodles of German beer and food to choose from, it’ll be a night to remember.

7. Blackmoor Bar + Kitchen
The Oktoberfest Celebration at Blackmoor returns again this year on Saturday, October 16. Enjoy authentic German food and bier, plus live music all night long from the Yankee Strudel Band and Hofbräu Spieler Band. Drink and dance the night away!

8. LongCross Bar + Kitchen
On Saturday, October 23rd, LongCross will feature live music and traditional food and bier all night long. The music selections will feature Frau Power Band and TubaFrau Hofbräu Band, while the menu will include a large selection of a large menu of German beers and traditional food.

9. Baramor
On October 21, Baramor will be hosting a dog-friendly “Barktoberfest,” a charitable dog costume party, with Jr’s Paws for a Cause. From 6 to 8pm, Baramor will be offering a delectable menu (for dogs and their owners alike!), plus they’ll be hosting a number of pop-up pet-shop vendors. Not to mention, there will be a costume contest, with the best dressed pups receiving prizes!
