Boston’s historic North End is set to host the annual San Gennaro Feast, transforming the Paul Revere Mall on Hanover Street into a bustling center of Italian culture from Friday, August 21, through Sunday, August 23. Organized by the Saint Gennaro Foundation of Boston, the three-day event will bring together community members and visitors for a weekend of traditional street fare, live entertainment, and religious ceremonies.
Authentic Cuisine and Weekend Entertainment
More than three dozen food vendors and local restaurants will participate in the weekend festivities. Attendees can expect a variety of Italian specialties from neighborhood staples, including Bricco, Café Dello Sport, Aqua Pazza, Forcella, and Trattoria il Panino.
Live music and entertainment will run continuously throughout the event. Friday evening highlights include a Motown tribute by Dr. K’s Motown Review at 8:00 p.m., while Saturday will feature a performance by Soul Legends with Russell Thompkins, Jr. and The New Stylistics at 8:30 p.m. DJs and local bands will provide ongoing music during the daytime hours.
Honoring Tradition and Supporting the Community
Beyond the cultural celebration, the event holds a strong philanthropic mission. Founded by Pasquale Trotta, Frank DePasquale, and Nick Varano, the Saint Gennaro Foundation directs its proceeds to support autism awareness organizations. This year, funds will benefit A Voice for Mikey, a foundation created by parents Michael Intoccia and Marilyn Zambrzycki to provide vital therapies, education, and physical care tools to families navigating autism diagnoses.
