Methodology
Travel + Leisure’s selection process for the It List begins with a comprehensive global survey of newly opened and renovated hotels. From over 200 candidates, the editors and reporters personally visit and evaluate nearly 130 properties across 44 countries over the course of a year. Each hotel is assessed based on design innovation, guest experience, cultural relevance, and overall quality to identify the most outstanding new hotels worldwide. The Brant, The Dunes on the Waterfront, and Longfellow Hotel are the only New England properties to make it on the list.
