It will lead you to a spot that earned recognition as one of the “top 14 French bakeries in America.” Hailing from a micro bakery in Somerville, Michette just celebrated the debut of its second location, now open in Cambridge’s Inman Square.
Michette brings French pastries to Inman Square
The new opening is as fresh as a Michette croissant, just welcoming guests for the first time on Tuesday, October 13, from 8 AM until 2 PM. Guests inhaled opening-day pastries, with baguettes, croissants, and cookies flying off the wooden display.
Unlike the birthplace of Michette, this second location is much larger, with ample seating, green marble bistro tables, window nooks to read a French novel or play sudoku with a friend, and even a bathroom, so you can do as the French do and prenez votre temps (take your time).
In addition to Michette’s famous baked goods, the new location offers a full-service beverage menu with coffee, lattes, and more. Die-hard Michette fans will want to explore the merch, which includes cozy crew socks to keep you as warm as their freshly served buckwheat chocolate chunk cookies, totes, water bottles, T-shirts, and more Michette swag.
The new location is now open at 305 Webster Avenue in Cambridge. You can still stop by the original Michette bakery at 164 Broadway in Somerville.
Michette pastries are also supplied at various cafes around the city including Gracenote in the Leather District and New Leaf Espresso.
