Founded in 1984, the beloved Spanish retailer, Mango, opened its first Boston/Cambridge location after four decades in business. The Barcelona-based brand opened its inaugural Massachusetts store in Natick Mall on the lower level and has now expanded with a new location at CambridgeSide.
Mango CambridgeSide merges the worlds of versatility and style in seamless architectural harmony. The design concept of the Cambridge Mango store intends to capture the essence of a Mediterranean dwelling with sustainability in mind. The idea not only nods to the brand’s Spanish roots, but also celebrates Mango women with its Mediterranean-inspired store concept, New Med.
Mango fashion is best known for it’s accessible high-quality timeless yet fashion-forward pieces. In an effort to make that trademark European Mango fashion more accessible and prominent in the US, Mango plans to open 40 new stores in the U.S. by the close of 2024.
Entry to the U.S. brick and mortar market began with a flagship store on Fifth Avenue New York in 2022. Mango fashion’s been sported by millions around the globe, and most recently featured by The Daily Mail when Kristen Bell of Netflix’s Nobody Wants This wore a top that went viral.
Fans loved Bell in Mango’s “Long-sleeved fitted shirt,” designed in Barcelona and made in Morocco in a micro-houndstooth fabric with a shirt-style collar. The top, which retails for $59.99 is currently sold out in all three sizes, but there is a waitlist for those interested a in a restock.
