Some Bostonians count down the days to Halloween every year for the opportunity to wander through a magical Harry Potter experience on Beacon Hill. The setup is curated by various anonymous homeowners who open the gates to their Beacon Hill home, which turns into the world of Harry Potter for a few days annually.
On Halloween night, the public is able to explore the secret alley which journeys you through the fictional Harry Potter worlds. Bostonians refer to it as the “Harry Potter House.”
You’ll find walls dripping in dementors and Aragog’s spiders! Be careful not to get caught!
Continue strolling and you’ll come across posters of the “most wanted.” Follow signs for Dragon Alley and Azkaban and you might come across the Whomping Willow or Buckbeak the Hippogriff! Beacon Hill’s Harry Potter House rests on Mount Vernon Street.
Continue to make your way to Primus Avenue which is transformed into Diagon Alley! The cobblestone street boasts all of your Harry Potter favorites. On Diagon Alley, fans will find The Leaky Cauldron, Olivander’s Wand Shop, Gringotts Bank, and candy and Halloween trinkets!
There will also be an opportunity to donate bronze Knuts, silver Sickles, or golden Galleons to four different Boston charities!
