An attempt to break the Guinness World Record for “the most people juggling a soccer ball simultaneously” takes place this June in Cambridge. Whether you’re based in Cambridge, Boston, Somerville, Brookline, or elsewhere in Massachusetts, New England, and beyond, all are welcome to participate in making history ahead of the FIFA World Cup in Boston.
You just need to be able to juggle a soccer ball for 10 consecutive seconds. The number to beat is 459, the current Guinness World Record for “the most people juggling a soccer ball simultaneously.”
Juggling in soccer is the process of keeping a soccer ball in the air, whereas dribbling is keeping the ball moving on the ground. That record was broken in Gaza in 2011 by 2068 people.
The Cambridge event is part of “Cambridge United,” a series of soccer-centric events and free World Cup screenings taking place this June and July in Cambridge. The series literally kicks off with this epic Guinness World Record attempt!
The juggling record is 459, so Cambridge just needs 460 or more people to attempt to beat the existing record! Here are the details to join:
