A lighthouse, fish buoy, checkered butterfly, and Maine outline are just some of the unique silver, gold, and rainbow charms you’ll find lining the tables at Good Stock Jewelry Maine. The shop, which started with just two trays of charms, now has over six! Along the wall, pick from various chain styles from paperclip to box chains in gold or silver. From there, the action begins, and creativity spurs.
Maine’s first and only charm bar
Visitors can spend minutes to hours going through all of the charms and building the perfect necklace or bracelet. Some like to keep it simple with a statement charm surrounded by four smaller framing charms, while others take a maximalist approach and fill their chain with charms.
The owner, Mia Gezik, notes she loves to see all the different styles Good Stock customers create. “No two pieces are the same.” This customization along with the community fostered in the design process that makes the Good Stock experience unique.
Ever since the TikTok above put Good Stock on the map for so many additional people, the line and enthusiasm can’t be contained. Gezik quickly expanded from her team of two, to now 10 people to accommodate for demand, especially since they assemble your charm pieces on the spot.
How it works
Customers grab a Good Stock tray, which has unique slots for your charms and chain to test design. Once you’ve gone through the hundreds of charms to explore—ranging from gold-filled and sterling silver to seashells and colorful enamel, you then give your tray to the Good Stock team who’ll build the charm piece for you on the spot. Chains are about $35 and each charm is about $5.
You may also get zapped at Good Stock’s permanent jewelry bar.
