Boston will sparkle from sunrise to midnight as First Night Boston 2026 lights up the city with free entertainment, outdoor fun, and one of the East Coast’s most celebrated fireworks displays.
Ice skating on the Common
The Frog Pond Skating Spectacular returns with two dazzling shows featuring elite and local figure skaters performing to holiday tunes against the Boston Common glow. The performances—one afternoon and one evening—are free and open to the public:

Family-friendly Noon Year’s celebrations
Families can kick off 2026 early at “Noon Year’s Eve” parties happening around the city. High Street Place and LEGOLAND Discovery Center both host balloon drops and dance parties at noon, creating fun countdowns for kids who can’t stay up until midnight.
Boston’s fireworks finale
Two stunning fireworks shows will cap off the night. The Mugar Family Fireworks begin at 7 PM, followed by the Midnight Fireworks, both on the Boston Common.
