Located in the town of Wilmington, Massachusetts, Shushan Farm is “your local bread shed.” The woman-owned micro-bakery is gaining attention for its long lines and near-immediate sell-outs, with thousands of products sold out in records of 20 or 11 minutes.
The Bread Shed is owned, operated, and filled by Zohar, a local single mom who bet on herself, and just quit her job to operate Shushan Farm full-time, as the demand grew so fast in the last year.
The original farmstand, which was much smaller, has since been converted into a community food shelf for those facing food insecurity. Adjacent to the new farmstand, which is much larger to meet the growing demand, is a pretty lilac-and-pink just steps from home.
Zohar bakes everything— from fluffy sourdough breads, to chocolate chip cookies, croissants, and cinnamon rolls. Leaving her full-time role behind and now able to take on Shushan Farm full-time, Zohran is excited to make a wide variety of new items and experiment more in the kitchen!
For now, you can find new doughy drops on the hotplate and shop the Bread Shed every Saturday at 10:30 AM in Wilmington, Massachusetts.
