The annual Boston Pizza Festival is set to return to City Hall Plaza on June 21 and 22, promising to transform Boston’s Government Center into a pizza haven. Organizers anticipate over 20,000 guests will gather for a weekend filled with live entertainment, interactive pizza-making demonstrations, and a showcase of more than 30 celebrated pizzerias from across New England and Italy.
About Boston Pizza Festival
Festival-goers can look forward to sampling slices from local favorites like Rina’s Pizzeria, da LaPosta, Florina Pizzeria, and gluten-free Montebella’s, as well as international standouts such as Il Sarago from Calabria and Pizza Taxi from the Amalfi Coast. The legendary Sally’s Apizza of New Haven and Italy’s renowned “Pizza a Vico” festival team will also make rare appearances, offering a unique opportunity to taste authentic Italian pizza crafted by master pizzaioli.
The secret sauce behind the perfect pie and more
This year’s Boston Pizza Festival introduces vegan options and marks the U.S. debut of Molino Scoppettuolo flour from Grottaminarda, Avellino-bringing 100% Italian-made flour to Boston’s pizza scene. Peroni and 19 Crimes will provide refreshments throughout the weekend, while The Dough Connection will host interactive, hands-on pizza-making demos. For those with a sweet tooth, a dessert booth will be serving up Nutella pizzas.
Boston Pizza Festival tickets
To make planning easier, the festival has introduced a new ticketing structure. Admission is $10 in advance (which includes two slices of your choice) and will increase to $15 during the event weekend. Guests can further customize their experience with add-on slice packages, ensuring everyone-from families to devoted pizza fans-gets their fill.
Festival co-directors Raffaele Scalzi and Giancarlo Natale, both veterans of Boston’s food and beverage scene, created the event to celebrate local talent and their Italian heritage. “This event is all about sharing our love for pizza, bringing people together, and creating a fun, flavorful experience for everyone,” said Scalzi.
