Established in 2022, Blue Ribbon Sushi Boston brings one of New York City’s favorite sushi spots to Kenmore Square. Nestled in the timeless Hotel Commonwealth, the sushi restaurant has a simple (and delicious) philosophy— importing the most exceptional fish from the Japanese Coast, and letting the quality speak for itself.
Quality sushi in the heart of Kenmore Square
A sashimi platter at Blue Ribbon Sushi offers a delectable fresh flavor and texture—a true sushi lover’s fantasy and one of Boston Uncovered’s favorite sushi restaurants in Boston.
Open for lunch and dinner daily, Blue Ribbon Sushi offers a beautiful assortment of maki, nigiri, sashimi, and fun appetizers and platters that both look, but more importantly, taste, divine.
Blue Ribbon Sushi Boston menu highlights
While there’s no wrong choice on the menu at Blue Ribbon Sushi Kenmore, some of the sushi highlights include the Otoro nigiri with black caviar, Kanpachi Usuzukuri (Amberjack fish with Yuzu Pepper paste), and the crispy rice topped with spicy ahi tuna, avocado, and a truffle eel sauce. If you want to try a little bit of everything the Chef’s Choice Platters offer a curated changing assortment of the freshest cuts to sample a variety of delicious sashimi, nigiri, and maki.
Blue Ribbon Sushi complements its cold sushi options with an assortment of hot appetizers and entrees. A must for the table is their bestselling Japanese wagyu beef dumplings which come seared and filled with juicy spiced wagyu beef. Pair your meal with the refreshing Yuzu Lemonade for some of the finest Japanese cuisine in Boston!
Journey to Japan in Boston
The expansive, two level interior—designed by Guzy Architects— is equally chic and cozy, with traditional Japanese fired brick tiles and oak wood paneling, plush leather seating and an open mahogany sushi bar to watch the sushi chefs in action!
About Blue Ribbon Sushi
Blue Ribbon Sushi is the brainchild of brothers Bruce and Eric Bromberg. The brothers launched their first restaurant, Blue Ribbon Brasserie after studying at one of the most prestigious food schools in the word, Le Cordon Bleu, hence the name—Blue Ribbon—which is a motif of excellence in quality and hospitality. The brasserie debuted its Basque-inspired menu in SoHo, Manhattan in 1992, with the first Blue Ribbon Sushi opening 3 years later. The Chefs and Owners have earned the prestigious status as James Beard Award Finalists, “Best Restaurateurs.”
The divine sister restaurants are neighbors on Commonwealth Avenue in Kenmore Square. Both Blue Ribbon Sushi and Blue Ribbon Brasserie offer lunch and dinner with takeout and dine-in available.
