A new Nantucket shopping destination is about to bring a dose of coastal charm to the island’s retail scene. “A Sailor’s Valentine” by Tuckernuck opens with a curated collection designed to channel chic Americana style and summer living.
About Tuckernuck
Tuckernuck is an island off the coast of Nantucket. It is a 900-acre island and the hidden gem that inspired the namesake brand for Tuckernuck’s three female founders. The brand sells both in-house labels and a curated assortment of other designers that reflect the delight of striking gold.
A Sailor’s Valentine by Tuckernuck
Historically, sailor’’ valentines were popular mementos in the 1800s given by sailors to loved ones as tokens of love, friendship, or sentiment upon returning from long sea voyages. They were often made of small seashells and other precious materials collected at sea to create a mosaic.
Tuckernuck’s “A Sailor’s Valentine” serves as both a love letter to Nantucket and an ode to the island’s sailing history. For Tuckernuck’s founders, Nantucket holds a personal significance, as they grew up spending summers on island.
The brand designed the boutique as an immersive space filled with shells, coastal motifs, and nostalgic details that reflect the island’s spirit. Shoppers can expect a carefully edited mix of summer staples, hostess gifts, unique vintage pieces, and more.
The boutique opens Memorial Day weekend at 23 Centre Street.
