Chris Donisi kept hearing that he should try voice work. When the Voice of Logan contest came along, he decided to take the suggestion seriously.
The Burlington resident, who says he was born in East Arlington, is one of eight finalists. Public voting ends October 28, with the winner expected to be announced in November.
A familiar suggestion becomes a hometown opportunity
Donisi’s contestant statement takes a modest approach: he doesn’t claim the role is something he deserves, but he does emphasize his familiarity with Boston and its people.
“I just know this city and its roots and how the people move and flow around here,” he writes.
That connection helped make the contest feel like the right opportunity to pursue something others had encouraged him to try.
For Donisi, the appeal isn’t simply getting behind a microphone. It’s doing so at Logan, welcoming people to a place he knows.
