Kristin Ingala may live on Cape Cod, but she says her voice still gives Boston away immediately.
The South Dennis resident and competitive boxer is one of eight finalists in the Voice of Logan contest. Public voting ends October 28, and the winner is expected to be announced in November.
From the boxing ring to the airport speakers
In her contestant statement, Ingala describes a Boston accent that has become part of her reputation.
Her family’s North End roots help explain the hometown pride.
“I’ve got the grit of a fighter and a voice you definitely won’t mistake for anywhere else,” she writes.
For Ingala, the appeal comes down to recognition: travelers should hear something unmistakably local when they land.
