Samantha Edwards wants travelers arriving in Boston to hear more than a local accent. She wants them to feel like they belong.
The Boston resident is one of eight finalists in the Voice of Logan contest. Public voting ends October 28, and the winner is expected to be announced in November.
An unmistakable accent with a welcoming message
“We, of Boston, are unapologetically accented!” Edwards writes in her contestant statement.
For Edwards, that hometown sound comes with a responsibility to represent the city’s warmth. Her pitch emphasizes openness, connection, and making people feel welcome regardless of their background.
“When I meet new people outside of Boston, I represent the love,” she writes.
She hopes visitors will carry that feeling with them, whether they’re discovering Boston for the first time or remembering their trip after heading home.
Her approach pairs local pride with a simple ambition: making an airport announcement feel a little more personal.
