The Children’s Fall-o-Ween Festival returns Thursday, October 22, from 4–8 p.m., bringing an evening of free seasonal fun to the Common. Presented by the Boston Parks and Recreation Department in partnership with the Skating Club of Boston, the celebration promises spooky attractions, creative activities and live entertainment.
Spooky rides and glowing games
Families can race through the Monster Dash Obstacle Course, tackle the Scarecrow Slide and catch live performances on the Parks Department Stage.
The festival’s activity lineup also includes a Funhouse Maze, Spooky Mansion Slide, Jumpin’ Pumpkin and bean bag toss. For an after-dark twist, the Glow in the Dark Park will feature LED swings, an LED seesaw and LED cornhole.
Halloween costumes are encouraged for both children and adults, so consider this an opportunity to give those outfits an early outing.
Train rides, LEGO builds and hands-on fun
Beyond the Halloween attractions, the celebration will feature music, arts and crafts, treats and rides aboard a trackless train.
Knucklebones will lead field games and individual and group play, while LEGO® Discovery Center Boston will offer giveaways and Halloween-themed building activities.
Whether your little ones prefer building something spooky, exploring an obstacle course or showing off their costumes, the evening offers plenty of ways to join the festivities.
