An Animal Kingdom nutcracker village arrives in Downtown Boston on November 30! Dubbed the “Holiday Kingdom,” the installation of a dozen giant animal-themed nutcrackers throughout the neighborhood’s shopping district, a slate of seasonally inspired programs, hundreds of streetscape decorations and lighting, and other experiences transform Boston’s Downtown Crossing into a winter wonderland.
Each life-size nutcracker represents a different animal and will decorate Washington and Summer Streets. Young students at a Downtown Daycare Center helped select their favorite animals for “Holiday Kingdom,” in a visit with Downtown Boston Alliance President Michael J. Nichols.
In addition to the debut nutcracker “Holiday Kingdom” installation, classic holiday decorations illuminate the throughways of Downtown Boston. Find illuminated star lights spanning the main thoroughfares, hundreds of lighted trees, festive wreaths, and winter-themed plants and landscaping along the streets.
There will be special programming to match the festive decor through the New Year. Highlights include the return of TubaChristmas on November 30 at noon, the Downtown Holiday Market opening November 29 at 11 AM, and Santa’s visit to Downtown every weekend from November 30 through December 22. Find Santa from 12-2 PM and 3-4 PM on Saturdays and Sundays!
The “Holiday Kingdom” at Downtown Boston runs from November through January 2.
