What do garlic milk bread buns, clarified milk punch, and gochujang brownies have in common? They’ll be some of the exciting creations to indulge in at the newly opened Nine Winters Bakery.
About Nine Winters Bakery
The Korean-American bakery which was formerly at Bow Market in Somerville is opened a permanent storefront on Observatory Hill in Cambridge. Founded by Marissa Ferola, Nine Winters Bakery has already gained a loyal following in Somerville from its time at Bow Market.
Ferola notes “the name is after my children, Janine and Winter. The concept was originally created to honor our Korean-American roots in both New England and Korean heritage, and is very much an extension of our family traditions.
The bakery is known to put a Korean infusion in American classics, like warm sticky buns made with gochujang, a fermented red chili paste.
Korean-American flavors
The team experiments with new recipes, often incorporating leftover ingredients into unique creations that infuse Korean and American flavors. The cafe serves breakfast and lunch along with a mix of creative beverages with Korean-inspired house made syrups. They also offer rotating cakes as well as sweet and savory pastries all made in-house!
Expansion to Cambridge
The move to Cambridge marks a significant expansion for Nine Winters Bakery. The new location offers its signature baked goods and enriches the culinary scene in West Cambridge with a unique fusion of flavors!
