Boston’s café lovers have a new reason to get excited: Nana’s Green Tea, the acclaimed “No. 1 Matcha Café from Tokyo,” is preparing to open its first Boston location on Newbury Street in the heart of Back Bay. With over 90 locations worldwide, from Japan to Singapore and the U.S., the brand is celebrated for its contemporary approach to traditional Japanese tea culture.
The upcoming café will spotlight ceremonial-grade matcha sourced from Uji, Japan—featured in drinks, parfaits, and beautifully crafted desserts. In addition to its signature teas, Nana’s Green Tea is expected to offer light savory dishes such as donburi and small plates that pair modern design aesthetics with Japanese culinary balance.
With its minimalist interior and emphasis on seasonal, high-quality ingredients, the opening marks another global addition to Newbury Street’s evolving café landscape. As anticipation builds, matcha fans and design enthusiasts alike are already looking forward to welcoming this Tokyo favorite to Boston.
The tea house will open at 175 Newbury Street later this year.
