Max German thinks Boston hospitality comes with a little attitude—and he’s hoping that combination will land him a place on Logan Airport’s speakers.
The Dorchester resident is one of eight finalists in the Voice of Logan contest, which will choose a new voice to welcome airport travelers. Public voting ends October 28, and the winner is expected to be announced in November.
A Boston welcome with a side of attitude
In his contestant statement, German describes a familiar local contradiction: people who will stop to help a stranger, then promptly lose patience behind the wheel.
“We’ll help you change a flat tire, then honk at you for being too slow to bang a U-ey,” he writes.
German says his friends consider him a “walking caricature” of a Bostonian, thanks to his accent, rough edges, and daily Dunkin’ habit. He embraces the description.
His go-to order keeps things simple: a large hot coffee with one cream and one sugar.
