The coastal towns of Gloucester and Rockport welcome visitors for their beaches, maritime history, and North Shore beefs. Now, another classic American handheld grows in popularity just one hour from Boston.
Little Sister, a fast-casual eatery born in Rockport, specializes in elevated burgers, fried sandwiches, hot dogs, and standout sides. Little Sister skyrocketed in popularity, opening a second outpost hidden inside Gloucester’s premier music and event venue, The Cut.
What’s cooking at Little Sister?
Little Sister offers a variety of burgers, ranging from double-patty melts to a vegetarian-friendly Impossible smashburger, The Duke, made with pepperjack, tomato, griddled chilis, smoky mushrooms, lettuce, and Duke’s dijonaise. Those on the North Shore claim it’s the best burger spot in the area, with creative toppings and supreme juiciness.
The Lil Sister Burger consists of a double beef patty, American cheese, griddled onion, spicy pickles, pickled peppers, garlic aioli, and butter. The Talise Burger, named after the owner’s sister restaurant, Talise, features a Double beef patty, cheddar Americaine, lettuce, caramelized onion, pickles, and 2020 Russian dressing.
About the crew
The team behind Little Sister, a husband-and-wife duo, Josh and Ariel Smith, strive to offer a warm, approachable, memorable, and consistent dining experience.
Talise is also a must visit if making a foodie excursion along the North Shore, the menu changes daily and is served harborside with honest farm-to-table preparation.
Little Sister’s Rockport location is waterfront too, with stunning cove views. When you’re looking to swap that waterfront lobster roll for a waterfront burger, it’s one of the best spots near Boston to do so.
