New England’s affinity for all things Lilly is hard to ignore, from tunics sported throughout the summer to the cozy Lilly Pulitzer cashmere sweaters dawned in winter and the decor sprinkled throughout local shops and homes. Despite a loyal cult-like following in New England, Lilly Pulitzer hails from Palm Beach, Florida.
Today, there are eight Lilly Pulitzer stores in New England, with five of those in Massachusetts. If you’ve ever visited one of those stores, you’ll known how the prints adorn the walls and that each store carries a half-zip native to the shop’s town. In New England, you might encounter the ACK or Maratha’s Vineyard print, an ode to the Massachusetts islands where Lilly is sported throughout the streets and rooted in coastal New England fashion.
This storied Lilly legacy and the brand’s 65th anniversary were celebrated at two of New England’s top resorts, both in the Little Gem Resorts family, The Nantucket Hotel & Resort as well as The Winnetu Oceanside Resort. Both properties, owned and operated by the Massachusetts-native Snider family, offered a stunning unique one-of-kind (and very Instagrammable) Lilly Pulitzer cottage.
Magnifying Lilly’s world
While the Lilly Pulitzer cottages have officially closed for the season, their vibrant design and charm continue to inspire. Designed in collaboration with Lilly’s home team, these unique cottages featured Winnetu exclusive hand-painted walls, whimsical decor, and even a Lilly surfboard, making them a delightful summer retreat.
Although the cottages are no longer available, there’s still plenty of opportunity to experience the magic of Nantucket. The Nantucket Hotel & Resort remains open year-round, providing a luxurious and charming stay on the island. Guests can enjoy beautifully appointed accommodations and immerse themselves in the local culture, all while benefiting from the hotel’s exceptional amenities and hospitality.
