The official FIFA World Cup Boston 2026 poster had its big reveal today, in preparation for the FIFA World Cup coming to Gillette Stadium in just over one year! The poster is a nod to Boston, sports, the outdoors, and coastal living. John Rego, an illustrator and a teacher at Massachusetts College of Art & Design in Longwood, also known as MassArt, is the mastermind behind the winning poster.
Several local artists submitted their interpretations of what a FIFA World Cup 2026 Poster representing Boston should look like.
The Boston branding is unique in that the administration is passing the torch to local students and teachers. From the official Boston World Cup Sonic ID, produced by two Berklee College of Music undergrads, now to the official poster, FIFA recognizes the prominence and prestige of Boston’s higher education institutions.
Boston poster features underwater sandy soccer field
The World Cup poster features the Boston skyline, Zakim bridge, a variety of boats— from a single-person kayak to a dragon boat—and more, above sea level. Rego created an underwater world for Boston in which even the fish play a little fútbol. Check out the Official FIFA World Cup Boston 2026 Poster below:
