In celebration of the 16th annual Festival of Trees in Wellesley, Massachusetts, 70 holiday trees decorate the historic Hunnewell Building, just 20 minutes from Boston. Each tree is decorated and donated by a local business, garden club, or individual and each holiday tree features a unique theme, merging the curiosity of an art gallery with the enchantment of the holidays.
Trees range in sizes of 3 to 9 feet and guests are invited to purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win their favorite decorated tree. Proceeds from the event support the Massachusetts Horticultural Society’s mission to help people live healthier and happier lives through horticulture, the science and art of growing plants for food, medicine, and soul-feeding purposes!
The event is hosted by the Massachusetts Horticultural Society, who oversee horticulture statewide at The Garden at Elm Bank in Wellesley, Massachusetts.
In addition to dazzling trees, Wellesley’s Festival of Trees includes Garden Lights featuring giant glowing tulips, an enchanting glasshouse, illuminated wooden towers, and a glimmering fountain to highlight botanical and horticultural features— transforming the gardens into a winter wonderland.
The Snow Village dawns a 10-year-strong indoor model train exhibit that traveler through decorated winter villages. Snow Village was donated to the Massachusetts Horticultural Society by Bill and Ellen Meagher in 2014 and is maintained and updated throughout the year by Bill along with the Bay State Model Railroad Museum of Roslindale.
The ticketed event runs now through Sunday, December 29 and tickets range from $5-$22 for Massachusetts Horticultural Society members and $8-$27 for non-members.
