Below are some of the top dance classes in Boston (some even completely FREE!) to let loose and improve your groove.
1. Urbanity Dance, South End
Urbanity Dance offers a no-risk free trial class to explore if dance is something you’re interested in. This South End dance school’s been serving Boston for over a decade and teaches hip-hop, contemporary, and plenty of other styles! They offer scholarships and drop-in classes to make dancing more accessible.
2. Boston Ballet, South End
You might know them from their iconic Nutcracker performance every holiday season, but Boston Ballet also offers classes that’ll make you spotlight ready too! From the professional division all the way to beginner Boston Ballet offers ballet classes to match a diverse assortment of goals.
3. Loretta’s Last Call, Fenway
Fenway turns into Nashville every Sunday and Thursday night with free line dancing at Loretta’s last call. While this is more of a honkytonk free for all, the open floor welcomes all and gives you a chance to perfect your line dancing. Find line dancing at Loretta’s on Tuesdays from 8-11 PM and Sundays from 7-10 PM.
4. Arthur Murray Dance Center, Back Bay
Teaching dance for over 100 years, Arthur Murray Dance Center’s seen all the dance trends and helped thousands of students become confident and many, even professional dancers. If that tenure doesn’t convince you, it’s important to note that your first dance lesson is also free. The dance center has one location in Boston, one in Cambridge and nine total in Massachusetts.
