Boston Calling won’t take place in 2026. Fret not, the production is just taking a “gap year” and promises to return in 2027!
The music festival announced that it won’t be hosting a 2026 Boston Calling. The three-day music festival traditionally takes place during Memorial Day Weekend, with over 50 artists per cycle and dozens of local food and beverage vendors.
Boston Calling takes a hiatus for the first time since 2021
“Thank you for making this year’s Boston Calling such a wonderful experience,” the festival posted on Instagram. “Your energy, passion and support mean the world to us. As we look ahead, Boston Calling will take a short break in 2026 as we gear up for an exciting return on a new weekend: June 4-6, 2027,” noted the festival organizers in a statement.
Outside of the Pandemic cancellations in 2020 and 2021, this is the first time Boston Calling announced a hiatus. Boston Calling debuted in 2013 and hosted 11 music festivals across City Hall Plaza and the current venue, Harvard Athletic Complex.
New dates for Boston Calling
Taking a gap year is not the only change in the lineup. The festival announced dates for 2027, and instead of May, Boston Calling will be held in early June.
The festival is slated to take place Friday, June 4, through Sunday, June 6, 2027. This will be the festival’s first time held outside of Memorial Day Weekend.
The festival will stay in its past location of the Harvard Athletic Complex in Allston.
