The temperatures are about to climb, and we’re not talking Beacon Hill, we’re talking Mount Washington.
Boston June temperatures will skyrocket nearly 30° between today and next Monday, June 23, as they jump from the low 70s to nearly 100°. While the temps will hover just below 100°, predictions right now are 94, 97, and 93—on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, respectively—the humidity could make the temperatures feel hotter than they are.
For those Bostonians who thrive in heat, this is great news. For others, this can be unbearably hot. The highest recorded June temperature in Boston history is 100° even, most recently recorded on June 30, 2021, so this is just about as hot as it tends to get here in Boston. Unlike the past few weeks of June, this forecast appears to be dry, with unobstructed sunshine throughout the 72 hour heat wave.
A heat advisory is issued in parts of New England beginning Thursday, June 19, mainly throughout Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. Meteorologists state that the areas will deal with “dangerous heat and humidity beginning as early as Thursday and lasting through late next week. This will be the first time Boston temps reach 90°+ in Boston.
