This summer, Boston’s Seaport neighborhood welcomes an exciting new culinary destination: The Block at Woods Hill, a gourmet retail shop and restaurant whipped up by restaurateur Kristin Canty and Chef Charlie Foster, the team behind Woods Hill Pier 4.
Spanning nearly 3,000 square feet, The Block offers a variety of seating options to suit any group size or preference. Guests can enjoy the casual atmosphere at communal tables, the chef’s table, a traditional dining room, or outdoor patio seating. The layout encourages conversation and shared experiences, making it a welcoming spot for all.
Similar to Woods Hill Pier 4, The Block at Woods Hill menu highlights the best of local farms and producers, featuring small tapas plates and larger dishes that celebrate seasonal, sustainable ingredients. Chef Foster’s innovative approach shines through in offerings like Dry Aged Flat Iron Steak with huitlacoche butter and blue corn grits, aged beef carpaccio, and Short Rib Bocadillo.
A new lunch spot hits the Seaport waterfront
For daytime guests, the menu includes standout sandwiches like what will soon become a Bostonian-favorite lobster roll, served on a toasted milk bun, complemented by sides like tallow fries and smashed cucumber salad.
Pastry Chef Kasey Geremia adds a creative touch with soft-serve ice cream in seasonal, unexpected flavors, providing a delightful finish to any meal.
In addition to dining, The Block features a curated retail shop offering artisanal products from local purveyors, including pasture-raised meats, cheeses, chocolates, and more. Looking ahead, communal classes with guest chefs and authors will launch in the fall, covering topics from fermenting to cheesemaking. The new spot offers a mix of gourmet grocer, lunch, dinner, and soft serve deliciousness to Seaport!
