Treworgy Family Orchard is home to the second-best corn maze in the whole of the U.S.
The season of apple picking, foliage watching and corn maze braving has finally arrived in New England and what better way to enjoy it is there than by visiting one of the best corn mazes in the whole of the U.S.?
Located in Levant, Maine, the Treworgy Family Orchard corn maze is one of the best mazes in the whole of the U.S. according to USA Today. The maze has been running since 2001, making it the longest continually running corn maze in Maine and has featured some pretty fantastic designs in the past including a night slaying a dragon, a ship and a giant crowned lion.
This year’s the maze features 60,000 plants over 10 feet tall spread across 4.5 acres in a design highlighting Maine’s 200th anniversary of statehood. The giant corn maze features some of the most iconic Maine scenes including a moose, a lighthouse and of course a lobster.
To sweeten up the experience Treworgy has also created a special map with riddles that can be solved at the corn maze’s various stations. If you manage to complete it, the riddle map will get you a free shake or soft-serve from the farm’s café. At the center of the maze, you’ll also find Treworgy’s “Hall of Fame Board” on which you can sign your name to record your visit to the award-winning maze.
In addition to its regular hours, Treworgy also offers nightly excursions into the maze where you’ll get to explore the corn maze for sweet treats beneath the stars in a totally magical experience, just make sure to bring a flashlight! This year, their Night Maze experience is available on the weekends of October 16-17 and October 23-24. It also includes moonlit hayrides, hot cider and fresh donuts to warm you up after your adventure!
If you manage to make it out of the corn maze, the Treworgy Family Orchard has a number of other attractions that include their pumpkin patch, PYO apples, a petting zoo and more!
