The Beacon Hill Holiday House Tour offers a window into the lives of the Nichols and Prescott families during the early 1900s— but make it the holiday season. The fundraiser event reveals the brownstones’ historic preservations and an expansive range of architectural and interior design styles.
Two homes will be open for visiting this year with ticketed admission that starts at $125. Enjoy self-guided tours of 19th Century The Nichols House Museum, former home of the highly regarded physician, Arthur Howard Nichols and his wife, Elizabeth and their three daughters.
This season, the William Hickling Prescott House, headquarters of the National Society of Colonial Dames of America in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, will also be open for self-guided holiday home tours. A National Historic Landmark since 1964, the Federal-style architecture townhouse overlooks Boston Common and highlights the various families who occupied the residency from the 1800’s through the Gilded Age.
The Nichols House serves as the The Nichols House Museum and is located at 55 Mount Vernon Street. Find the William Hickling Prescott House at 55 Beacon Street.
