The Amtrak Downeaster resumed seasonal service to Old Orchard Beach on Monday, May 18. Daily service continues from Boston to Old Orchard Beach through October.
The train travels directly from North Station and takes approximately 2 hours to arrive at this popular Maine Beach. The train stop is just steps from the main beach area, pier, hotels, and dining, making it convenient enough for a day trip or those without a car. Old Orchard Beach is especially favored by families with young kids due to its boardwalk and plethora of beachfront amusement rides like a massive Ferris wheel.
