Skip the traffic and take the train to New York City this fall. Amtrak is offering at least 25% off coach fares on select routes, with Boston-to-Manhattan tickets from $21.
The limited-time sale runs through September 30 for travel between October 14 and December 17, 2026. It is a cheaper way to plan an autumn weekend in New York, a pre-holiday getaway or a longer trip along the Northeast Corridor.
Boston to NYC from $21
Boston travelers can currently find one-way tickets to New York from $21. The sale applies to coach tickets and discounts the Flex fare by at least 25%.
The deal covers the Northeast Regional route, which connects Boston with New York, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C. and other Northeast destinations. The sale also includes the Downeaster, which links Boston with New Hampshire and Maine, as well as select long-distance routes across the country.
When to book and travel
Tickets must be purchased between September 24 and September 30, 2026. Eligible travel dates run from October 14 through December 17, 2026.
The offer does not apply on November 11 or from November 20 through November 30, so it will not work for Thanksgiving travel. Seats are limited and may not be available on every train or date.
What to know before booking
The discount is available for coach travel and cannot be combined with other offers. Changes are not permitted after booking, while cancellations made before departure carry a 50% cancellation fee.
